Gainesville Regional Airport Flight Booking Information
Gainesville Regional Airport serves the Greater Alachua County area and services more than 200,000 people. The airport itself is modest, with only 2 terminals, but it is expanding and should be opening up a newly reconstructed travelers lounge and waiting area.
The Gainesville Airport is very active in specials and promotions for Gainesville residents. For the most recent Tennessee Florida Gators game, there were non-stop flights from Gainesville to Tennessee. This was a great special, since most flights from Gainesville require a stop in Atlanta or Charlotte.
Gainesville Airport also just installed new self-service kiosks in the terminals, enabling travelers to use eCheckin and not having to wait in line for airline help staff.
Cheap Gainesville Flight Information
Currently, the Gainesville Airport (GNV) offers flights on its two carriers, United Airlines and Delta. Since there are only two carriers, there is an often an opportunity to take advantage of frequent flyer miles as well as finding cheap tickets for Gainesville flights.
The best technique for booking from Gainesville or to Gainesville is to book in advance, thus ensuring you receive the best chance of a discount on your flight plans.
Since the airport is frequented by mostly business travelers, and students on the weekends, you can often find great deals to or from Gainesville for mid-week flights. So flying out on Tuesday instead of Monday can save you a lot of money.
Checking Gainesville Flight Schedules
The GNV provides a number of resources for travelers and loved-ones to check in on the status of flight arrivals and departures.
Since Gainesville Airport relies on connecting flights, often times, delays can result in missing connecting flights and travelers arriving much later to their destinations than they had planned.
For information on the flight status, you can call the airlines directly. When you call, be sure to have the flight number, which can be located on the online email receipt or on the ticket stub.
